Peter Giger . Com

is mostly about technology, design, art and critical theory.

I am doing research in the field of  Technoscience. This web site deals with the with the abstract zone between the person and the technology, particularly information & communication technology, ICT. For some years now, my research has hovered around web 2.0 technology; It’s culture, thinking and complexities. I introduced some of this thinking in my licentiate thesis. I’m also a trained librarian working simultaneously with library things and research at Blekinge Institute of Technology.

I’m always close to music, photography, critical theory and literture. Some of my photo designs might pop up here.

  1. hi Peter, found some of your pictures from San Francisco taken with Canon G10, and they are amazing, so clear and smooth but detailed, so rich colours, I’ve had this camera for a few months, but never achived such results, do your pictures require heavy post processing?, would u share some of your camera settings or worklflow?, thx, raff

  2. Hi raff, I just arrived from San Francisco last night. None of the pictures I have posted on the web are post processed as of now. One or two I have shoot in raw, but the rest (> 600) in large JPG. Depending on the situation I have used full auto, av, auto + 800 iso – indoor. Non of the indoor uses flash, but rather a “steady” hand. I have imported to Picasa 3 and from Picasa to the Web more or less unprocessed. The time of the day, weather and so on, influences the quality parameters you mention.

  4. Tack Johan, jag har en “blind spot” för vissa ord, och ett av dessa är just detta… :)
